Winter Classes at The Academy
The Academy is currently enrolling students in our Winter 2025 classes. Please see the descriptions below and give us a call or email us with any questions. All classes will take place at The Snug Theatre, 160 S. Water Street, Marine City, MI.
Enrollment in these classes will result in eligibility for our Youth4Youth program. In Youth4Youth, students will have an opportunity to put a complete production together and perform it for the community. Learn more about our Youth4Youth production and audition information.
Snug Bugs, Musical Theatre Basics: Grades K-2
January 2nd - February 13th (No class January 23rd)
Thursdays, 5 pm - 5:45 pm
Enrollment Fee: $150
Winter classes are more Musical Theatre-based accompanied by character work.
Snug Bug's Musical Theatre Basics is designed for young elementary kids to get comfortable in the world of theatre! Students will learn about the basics of musical theatre through activities and class exercises. Snug Bugs is an opportunity for children to grow a better understanding for speaking, presenting, and social skills in a welcoming environment!
Students will have the opportunity to present what they learned at the end of our 6 week course on Thursday, February 13th, 2025 at 5 PM.

Intro to Theatre: All Ages
January 2nd - February 13th (No class January 23rd)
Thursdays, 4 pm - 4:45 pm
Enrollment Fee: $150
2025 Winter Classes are Musical-Theatre based accompanied by character work, but Intro to Theatre and Advanced Theatre students are welcome to prepare a monologue instead of a song for their individual presentation piece.
This class is for students who are new to The Academy, have taken 0-3 Academy classes, or are rising Snug Bugs.
Intro to Theatre is a session of weekly introductory classes designed for beginner musical-theatre students. In Intro to Theatre, students will learn skills to widen their experience in the world of theatre. In this course, students will have the opportunity to practice theatre techniques and exercises through activities and hands-on experiences which will help them level up on the stage.
Students will have the opportunity to present what they learned at the end of our 6 week course on Thursday, February 13th, 2025 at 4 PM.

Advanced Theatre: Upper Level Students
January 2nd - February 13th (No class January 23rd)
Thursdays, 6 pm - 6:45 pm
Enrollment Fee: $150

This class is for students who have taken 4+ sessions of classes.
Upper Level students who have past theatre experience may audition into the class.
The Academy’s “Advanced Theatre” is a course designed to help advanced musical-theatre students hone in on their skills. Students will learn tools to help them level up on the stage. During this process, students will gain an understanding of necessities in theatre while also learning valuable life skills such as communication skills, core theatre values, self-confidence, problem solving, and more!
Students will have the opportunity to present what they learned at the end of our 6 week course on Thursday, February 13th, 2025 at 6 PM.
